Summer Craft Festival

Dot-to-Dot Studio is an independent sewing school located on the same site as my workshop, offering a range of classes and workshops for adults, children and teenagers.

The Craft Festival is geared towards children over the age of 10, or 13 if you’re taking the additional option of joining me at the torch flame.  Here’s what Dot-to-Dot have to say about it….

A series of short workshops over three days, this is a chance to try out lots of different textile and craft projects. We’ll be making felted flowers and beads using natural wool, having a go at tie dye and bleach designing with stencils, and there is also plenty of opportunity to sew. We will be making either PJ style shorts with pockets or pom-pom shorts, and having a go at freehand machine embroidery to make our festival masks and headdresses. Also (for over 13’s only I’m afraid) an amazing opportunity to have a go at making glass beads at the flame with Rebecca Weddell in her studio.

Students need to bring a packed lunch each day and are advised to bring a set of old clothes to wear while dyeing/bleaching – (every care will be taken to avoid getting messy, but some people are just the messy sort!)

By the end of the workshop you will have a festival-ready outfit!  A pair of your own handmade shorts, a tie-dyed bandana scarf, bleach stencilled T-shirt, felted wool flowers, festival mask or headdress, and a set of beads made into a necklace, keyring or phone charm.
